* Business Spotlight* Little Creations and Frames {Brandon, MS photographer *giveaway*}!

If there’s one thing I love hearing about, it is other small businesses like mine that are different, set apart from all of the big retail stores. Little Creations and Frames is just that, and what’s even better is that I personally know the owner, and she is completely amazing! Brandie’s a military wife, full time mom to two little boys, business owner, and plays a big part in the church they attend! And so much more I’m sure.

She offers a wide range of customizable products, one of my favorites being her frames! She is so talented!

Luckily, she was sweet enough to let us interview her about her business! Let’s take a behind the scenes look at Little Creations and Frames, shall we?

When did you start Little Creations? Little Creations starting around May of 2009 on my back porch.

What inspired you to start a business like this? I was asking my mom if there was anything special she wanted for her birthday that was coming up and she couldn’t ever think of anything. Finally, she said that she needed something to display some pictures of my son (then only one) on. After going to the Canton Flea Market and searching high and low for over priced handmade items I decided I would take the ideas I had seen at the market and create something myself. I have always loved the distressed picture frames that you sell your firstborn to purchase but never wanted to give my son up on the Black Market (haha). After looking at several, I wanted to make something a little different for my mom and this is where the “Distressed Clothespin Board” came in. Now I make all different kinds of things thanks to my wonderful customers.

What products do you make? All of my products are wood, except for around the holiday season
– Distressed picture boards
– Framed Dry erase boards
– Framed Cork Boards
– Distressed picture frames (the requests were to great for these to pass up)
-Glass Christmas Ornaments
-And my new favorite EASTER BUCKETS!!!

What is your all time favorite creation you’ve made? My all time favorite creation that I’ve made, hmmm that’s hard! Recently I had a custom order for several frames, but she wanted them to be flat with no trim or molding and to look really rustic to match her house. I went and looked for the most knotted up wood I could find and created her frames. I believe those frames would have to be my favorite.

You’re a mom to two little boys, how do you balance your business work and motherhood? (more hard, but amazing work!) Aaaaaah, Motherhood! :o) Love it but it definitely is a never ending job with blessings waiting around every corner. Well, I am a stay at home mom, so after I take my oldest to pre-school I come home and do my “chores” for the morning, if I have any orders or new ideas I work on them at nap time and then again after they are both in bed. On the weekends my husband is home most of the time so I work on more things when he can help watch the boys.

As you can see, Brandie is pretty amazing! She is so kind that she is giving away one of her newest products, a custom Easter bucket, to one of my blog readers! Check out how awesome they are!

How sweet is that?! All you have to do is go to Little Creations and Frames on facebook, and “like” it, and leave a little love! Then stop on by my photography facebook page here and like it as well. After doing those things, come back here leaving a comment saying you did both and what kind of bucket you’d get if you won! You’ll then be entered to win a custom made Easter bucket from Little Creations and Frames! A winner will be randomly drawn from THIS blog post on Saturday, March 5th!
