Weekend wonder–wall display idea {Erin Phillips Photography, Slidell, LA photographer}

I’m going to try something new here on the blog, it’s called Weekend Wonder. Every weekend possible, I’m going to try to post something inspiring related to your photos. Sometimes it’ll have to do with your photos from a session, while other times, it might just be photos taken with your cell phone. Here goes nothing! πŸ™‚

I posted this sneak peek on my facebook the other day as I was working on this post, saying I’d have a great blog post up that night. Well in between my baby girl being sick and server problems, I’m just now getting it done! I will take the snuggle time with my girl any day. πŸ™‚

So anyway, as a photographer, I’m more likely to promote to my clients bigger is better when it comes to wall portraits, and that’s so true 99.9999% of the time, but you know what else looks great?

UNIQUE wall displays featuring your favorite photos. Whether they are 5×7’s, 8×10’s, or a couple of 16×20’s, if you display them creatively & effectively, it can be simply gorgeous.

(Kind of like how gorgeous my 3 babies are in this photo…check out the sweet personality shining through my little man! Oh I love the three of them so much, and miss him like crazy!)

A little over a month ago, I was at an ordering session with some of my awesome clients, and they gave me these AMAZING rustic window panes! I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them, fill them with photos of course!

2 window panes, 6 openings per pane, 12 8×10’s,Β wire, screws, clothespins= AWESOMENESS!

Sadly, I didn’t come up with the idea on my own. I had seen it on Pinterest, and had secretly been wanting to get my hands on some window panes! God is good to send me blessings like these. πŸ™‚

Never heard of Pinterest? Oh my… let me know, I’ll send you an invite. Be warned though, it’s a time suck!

Amazing, beautiful, rustic wall display. I love it.

In my opinion, photos, your memories preserved, that is the BEST type of wall art you can have! Can’t put a price on that.

Do you have any awesome wall displays in your home? If you do please share a pic of it with me on my facebook page! I love to see how others creatively display their photos.

Simply beautiful πŸ™‚

  • Patricia Knight - I love those frames. I’m in the process of redesigning my studio. May have to make some of these. And I LOVE Pinterest! Awesome source of inspiration and ideas.ReplyCancel

  • Sylvia - What a great idea!! I have had a pale pink old window frame for years and years. 6 panes, but still with the glass intact. It was always my plan to hang it on the wall with photos behind the panes. Still haven’t done it. But I do use it a lot as a prop/background for photography.
    How nice of your client to give these to you!ReplyCancel

  • Monica Grimes - Super cute idea! I might have to try that out myself!!ReplyCancel
