For a few months now, I’ve been looking at this cute little yellow building off of a main street here in town. It’s tiny, OLD, and so adorable. I told my friend Jenny, who happens to also be a local photog, how much I loved it and how awesome it would be as a studio, and she said she had been thinking the same thing! (we have been known to do this with each other) We rambled on some more wondering the price and just kind of left it at that. I decided to call the number one day, but to no avail. I left a message and called back a few times with no call back for months.. I had kind of given up on it and just kept staying busy with my family & the business..
About a month or so ago, the phone rang, and the person on the other side of the phone was a lady who said she was just getting the message about the little building and that we could meet if we needed to to see the inside of it. I immediately called Jenny and we both freaked out a little and then I called the lady back about the building, asked her some questions, and had a time to meet her 2 days later.. I was so nervous and so excited.. Of course, we wouldn’t actually do this right? I mean.. it couldn’t hurt to look at it..
We walked in with the intentions of seeing one side of the building and we totally fell in love with it. It was perfect for us! Then we met a few more times and realized another part of the building was even more perfect. We had found the place we didn’t even know we needed… We found our studio!! We are TWO different photographers and will remain that way. We are just sharing a studio space. We do have a few things we will be doing together, (CAN’T wait to announce those!!) but for now, we are still just two different businesses, sharing one studio space.
Needless to say, we have ALOT of work/renovations ahead of us and we are SO very excited!! I’ll be shooting my newborns and baby planners in the studio. My family, senior, and maternity will still be outdoors. 🙂 I’ll be sharing the renovation process with y’all on my facebook fan page, and here from time to time, so keep up and let me know what you think! This wouldn’t be possible without the Lord, my supportive husband, family, friends, and clients! Love you all!! <3
And I must end this post with one of my favorite quotes that I think fits for this (and many other) situations.. 😉
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Here’s to sailing away from the safe harbor… <3
